GoogaLoom Basics

First, ADD a product to your page - click the + symbol in the Product Name Column. This adds a product, you can now start editing product properties.

General

Item Name ( required )
Enter the name of the item you wish to sell.

Product ID / Number
If you have an ID or tracking number for your item, enter it here. This field will be displayed to your customers at the time of payment, and will be shown in both the buyer's and seller's transaction details on the Google receipt.

Item Price ( required )
Enter the price of the item you wish to sell.

Weight
US Merchants can use Googgaloom's shipping calculation instead of flat rate (See Shipping Options button on bottom of GoogaLoom page) Enter weight here to take advantage of these calculations.

Shipping1
Flat cost to ship the first item.

Shipping2
Flat cost to ship the second unit of the same item.

Sales Tax
The tax amount you would like to charge for this item. (this is a numeric currency amount, not a percentage. If you must charge 8% tax on this item and the unit cost is $100, you'd enter 8.00 for tax) By making the value 0.00, you could run a tax-free promotion on an item. If you need to calculate different tax rates for different regions, zones, use the Google Checkout's Tax Calculator: Settings->Tax Setup in your Google Checkout account.

This Item Is Out Of Stock
Enable this option to keep this item published on your site, but not available for sale. Useful for items out of stock that will be restocked.

Product is Digital (Downloadable)
If enabled, the product is treated as digital content. The buyer is not asked for a shipping address if the cart contains only digital products.

Hide Product
Enabling this option will keep this item in your GoogaLoom page in your RW site file but it will not be present on your published site file.

Describe

Brief Description
A short description of the item you are selling. This is generally used in list views so keep it short.
HTML Allowed

Long Description
A Longer, more elaborate description of the item you are selling. This is used when user is viewing the detailed view.

Options

Option fields let your customers specify options (such as size or color) for the items they purchase. GoogaLoom allows for flexible option and even variable pricing-per-option.

To create a product option:

  • Click the + symbol under Product Attributes.
  • Give your attribute a Name (internal reference, not visible to user) and Title (What the user will see published).
  • Select the format you'd like your option list to appear in - Radio, Text, Checkbox or Hidden.
  • Your Product Attibute has been created, you now need to add Attribute Choices - click the + symbol under Attribute Detail.
  • Enter the selections the users should be able to select. For example, Small, Med, Large, XL. You can also assign price overrides to specific attributes. The value entered in Price Override will be the products total price including that option. For example, if you sold shirts and Small, Medium and Large were $10, and X-Large was $12, you'd leave Price Override empty for Small, Med and Large and enter $12.00 as the Price Override for X-Large.

Image

Background
Change the background color of your product image.

Padding
Add padding to your product image.

Borders
Add a border to your product. You can even adjust the thickness and color of it.

Reflection
Add reflections to every product image on your page with just one click.

Rounded Corners
Give your product images that kewl Web 2.0 look by rounding the corners.

Drop Shadow
Adding a great looking drop shadow is as simple as turning clicking one button.

Misc

Details Box Dimensions
This will control the size of the details box that is presented when the customer clicks the "More Details" link. This is perfect for items that have a larger detailed views to avoid scrollbars.

Details Image Size
Control the sizes that your item's image is displayed. You have the option of entering image dimensions (in pixels) and selecting to Scale images to this size or to crop to this size.

Image Alt Tags
To keep GoogaLoom generated pages search engine friendly, consider entering your Preview and Detail Alt Tags describing image content.

Page Settings

You'll also want to become familar with the GoogaLoom Page Settings for more advanced Preferences:

With your GoogaLoom page open, go to View -> Show GoogaLoom Settings

On the "Google" tab, you'll enter your Google Merchant ID and (if you have one) your Google Analytics ID. Select your Currency from the pull-down list. At this time, US Dollar and British Pound are available. Toggling your currency selection here will update the currency symbol where applicable on your GoogaLoom pages.

Misc Google Settings Product URL
A URL related to the product (product details, etc.)

Buttons
On the Buttons tab, you can elect to use the default Google style button or custom buttons. If you'd like to use a custom image, drag a .jpg or .png into the drop box. If you'd like to use non-image browser style buttons, that's available too.

Layout
This tab allows you to define basic apperance settings. You can elect to have products displayed in Stacked view (one single colum) or Grid View (two columns, multiple rows). Or choose Custom and enter your own layout CSS code in the field provided.

CSS
You can modify the GoogaLoom CSS - basically everything between the pages <style> tags.

Misc
The Misc tab contains a few more things you can tweak. You can enter custom text to replace the default More Details link You can enter custom text to appear on products you've marked Out of Stock Google Misc Settings are advanced options you can use to modify the behavior of the floating cart in your pages.
